        “Dr. Chang received the prestigious American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Film Festival Award in 2006 for his innovative Combined Sutureless Surgery (CSS) for cataract and vitreoretinal patients. He also won the European Society Of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) film festival award that year, becoming the first East Asian surgeon to achieve this dual honor. Again in 2020, he led an outstanding team to win the best surgical video for education award from the Ophthalmological Society of Taiwan (TOS).

        In 2008, Dr. Chang left his position as Department Head and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Tri-Service General Hospital to establish his own private clinic, Oscar Eye Center, named after the ASCRS award. Under his stewardship, Oscar Eye Center quickly gained a stellar reputation as one of the few outpatient surgical clinics in Taiwan that can perform comprehensive care and precise procedures such as femtosecond laser, endoscopic surgery and sutureless vitrectomy.

        Dr. Chang has proven to be a formidable figure in Taiwan’s ophthalmology field, where he fulfilled the three-dimensional vision of Tri-Service General Hospital, excelling in research, teaching and clinical practice. Today, Oscar Eye Center benefits from his rare and remarkable expertise – a “Tri-service” combination of phaco, refractive and V-R surgery.”
